A Fun Summer’s Day

Having the opportunity to photograph this family was fantastic. They were super fun and allowed me to

have some fun with them. We started with some very nice family photos. The sun was super bright that day and made it hard for all of us to see. At some points they couldn’t even open thier eyes.

Once the family photos were done, the boys came to give me a hand. They were armed and ready to attack. They went through all the balloons and all the water in the guns. Everyone was soaked, and had a great time.

Then, to be fair, I gave up the camera and let them return the favour I did for them.

The boys (the three young ones and the big one) had a blast attacking me, but thankfully sibling rivalry won out and I was able to stop worrying.

Momstown.ca Session Winner

On Saturday August 18th I had the opportunity to take a whole bunch of pictures for Momstown.ca’s 5th Birthday Bash at Rundle Park. My man purpose was to take shots of the kids with Clifford the Big Red Dog.

Everyone who had their picture taken was given the opportunity to win a free fall session.

I used random.org as everyone who entered already had a number on the card they filled out.

The winner was #45 Lisa Williamson! Congrats to her!

Macro Photography – RTS Photo Challenge

A challenge was put out Rock The Shot to experiment with Macro and see what the best image is you can get. Macro is when you get up close to an object.  I spent an afternoon at the lake seeing just what I could capture. Here are some of the images.

Some High Bush Cranberries. This plant is about 5 years old and this is the first sign of fruit on the plant.

Then came the sunflower that ended up having a bumblebee on it. There are a few of the “You know your a photographer if…” pictures going around….one of the points is if you would normally run from an insect but when trying to get a macro shot, you’ll get closer than you ever have. Yup, proved that point!
Next came the eyes. I am a sucker when it comes to eyes, I love taking shots of them. These are some of the nicer ones. One of them even has a good reflection of me…can you see it?

And then there were the Fuzzy Wuzzys. I have no idea what their name is, but I love them and always have. They are a sign of summer for me.

This next image was one of the first ones I took once my camera was out. On the porch at my dad’s, he has plastic windows so that the wind doesn’t blow in. He pointed out the Fuzzy Wuzzy on the plastic. I love this shot. It makes him look like he is floating!

This month was a really tough decision as to which one to pick. I really wanted to pick the floating Fuzzy Wuzzy, but decided to go with the Billie eye.  (The one without me in it).

The Grad In You – Alix

I spent a spring afternoon with my niece getting some early senior photos done of her. I am so proud of the woman she has become and I have a feeling I will do a few more sessions before her senior year is done.

While we were out we also had some fun with my pups!
